Dr. Melanie Fulton, DDS
Dr. Fulton was born and raised on a farm in central Iowa. After she received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, she began her dental career as a facility member at UNMC college of Dentistry. In 1997 Dr. Fulton moved to private practice.
Dr. Fulton has been in private practice for 20 years. Even though she enjoys the technical aspects of dentistry, her favorite thing about this profession are the friends she’s able to work beside each day and the relationships she’s able to develop with the patients she’s able to serve.
The professional associations Dr. Fulton belongs to are; the American Association of Dentistry, The Nebraska Dental Association, the Lincoln District Dental Association. She has contributed to many committees including the Deans advisory counsel.
Dr. Fulton’s and her husband Dan have been married for 36 years. They have two great children and two wonderful grandsons. The couple enjoys traveling, Husker anything, and spending time spoiling their grandsons.
Dr. Sharlene Hock, DDS
Dr. Sharlene Hock is originally from southwest Nebraska. She graduated from UNL with a Bachelor of Science degree and from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry with a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree.
Dr. Hock practiced in Sioux Falls, SD before moving back to Lincoln to be closer to family. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, Nebraska Dental Association, and the Lincoln District Dental Association.
Dr. Hock strives to provide the most advanced dental care to her patients by expanding her knowledge through continuing education. She enjoys all aspects of family and cosmetic dentistry. She always provides her patients with the most thorough and comfortable care.
Dr. Hock and her husband, Daniel have been married for five years. They welcomed their son Rory early in 2015 and are enjoying being new parents. She also has a three year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Penny who is full of energy and very spoiled!

Dr. Kent Neuhaus, DDS
Dr. Neuhaus graduated from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in 1980 and from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry in 1984.
He has practiced in Lincoln for over 30 years. Dr. Neuhaus has pursued post-graduate education concentrating on cosmetic and restorative dentistry. Dr. Neuhaus taught at the UNMC College of Dentistry from 1988-1994.
Currently, he is a member of the American Dental Association, the Nebraska Dental Association and the Lincoln District Dental Associations. He is also a member of the Academy of General Dentists and is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists.
Dr. Neuhaus has served as president of the Lincoln District Dental Association and of the UNMC College of Dentistry Alumni Association. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the University of Nebraska Alumni Associations.
Dr. Neuhaus grew up in Fairbury, Nebraska and has lived in Lincoln since attending college here. He and his wife, Mary, have one child, and are members of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. The entire family enjoys many activities together, but at the top of the list is playing tennis and attending any Husker sports event.
Diane joined Star City Dental in 2008. She has 40 years of experience, 27 as a certified dental assistant. When asked, her comment is always that she loves the profession! Her responsibility is to be Dr. Fulton’s primary chairside assistant. In addition she keeps our office current in OSHA requirements, and has the responsibility of all dental materials inventory.
In her free time, Diane and her husband try to split their time between four grown sons that live in three different areas of the US plus one out of the country. The love of her life is her four beautiful grandchildren. Diane has a Lhasa Apso dog that she consider her 5th son. Summer is her favorite time of the year, allowing for water activities, getting together with friends and gardening.
Sarah joined our practice in 2006 after graduating from Wichita State University with a dental hygiene degree. Prior to her hygiene education experience, Sarah was a certified dental assistant for four years. Sarah is our senior hygienist and oversees the hygiene department at Star City Dental, always with the goal of providing the best of individual care to each of our patients.
In her free time, Sarah and her Husband enjoy boating, camping and entertaining with friends and family. Her family is the center of her world. The stories of raising her two young sons shared with our patients and staff bring many a smile to our days!
Sherry is our office manager. She has over 35 years of experience in the dental field as a certified dental assistant. Her role in the office is to handle insurance and billing estimates, patient financing, marketing as well as overseeing the management of the practice. She enjoys seeing the transformation that great dentistry produces in the lives of our patients.
In her free time, she loves spending time with her two grown sons, their wives and her beautiful granddaughter. Her list of books to be read and travel to be done is endless!
Diane started her dental career over 25 years ago as a dental assistant. The past ten years she has moved to running the front desk of our office and enjoys seeing the patient’s smiles as she greets them upon arrival. Some of her duties are setting appointments, insurance verification, and answering questions about treatment and scheduling.
She enjoys her free time with her husband, kids and those 7 special grandkids that are her biggest blessings. When possible she loves to be on the sidelines of the grandkids sporting events, taking walks, and being a Husker fan. Music is a huge part of her family’s life.
Pam joined our practice in 2012 as a part time hygienist. She graduated from UNMC with a degree in dental hygiene. Prior to her hygiene education experience, Pam was a certified dental assistant for over fifteen years. Pam loves being part of a dedicated team that sees their patients as the most important part of their job.
Pam is married to a Lincoln Public School teacher/coach and in her spare time, splits her time between her three daughter’s activities and his many basketball games. She grew up in a rural area and spending time outdoors is at the top of her favorites list!
Michelle has been working with Dr. Kent Neuhaus for 24 years, twenty as his dental hygienist. She was excited to become part of the team when Dr. Neuhaus moved his practice to Star City Dental. Michelle has served many positions on both the local and state level of NEDHA. In 2004 she was honored as the Lincoln Dental Hygiene Association’s “Hygienist of the Year.”
She loves spending her free time with a good book and her family. Most summers you can find her on a ballfield enjoying watching one of her kids play softball or baseball.
Kirstie graduated from the Southeast Community College Dental Assisting Program and became a certified dental assistant in 2009. She joined Star City Dental in September 2014 and loves meeting and working with our patients. Kirstie is currently working toward becoming a dental hygienist.
In her spare time she loves baking, spending time with her family and being outdoors as much as possible.
Amy is our clinical coordinator. She supports all of our providers and keeps our office running smoothly. She has 11 years’ experience in the dental field as a certified dental assistant. Ten of those years were working chairside with Dr. Neuhaus . Amy enjoys getting to see the impact that great dentistry can have on a person’s life.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, reading and snowboarding.
